R & D Systems anti-TNF-alpha antibody was used in blocking experiments by Mark Bond et al. to study the induction a Fas-associated death domain-dependent type II apoptotic pathway by tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-3 in 2002, by Min Zhou et al. to study the regulation of monocyte matrix metalloproteinase-1 and -9 by interferon-gamma in 2003, and by Bysani Chandrasekar et al. (AF-201-NA) to study the proapoptotic signaling pathways in interleukin-18-mediated human cardiac endothelial cell death in 2004. R&D Systems TNF alpha ELISA kit was used in 2003 by Terese Persson-Dajotoy et al. to study TNF alpha expression in human eosinophils, and by Shigeru Okumura et al. to study TLR4- and Fc{epsilon}RI mediated gene expression in human mast cells, and in 2004 by Thorsten Hagemann et al. to study up-regulation of matrix metalloproteases by TNF alpha, and by Iveta Iontcheva et al. to study moesin role in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated signal transduction. In 2003, R & D Systems monoclonal anti-TNF-alpha antibody was used in immunocytochemistry to study expression of the neutrophil-activating CXC chemokine ENA-78/CXCL5 by human eosinophils, and in immunohistochemistry by Terese Persson-Dajotoy et al. study TNF alpha expression in human eosinophils.

Shigeru Okumura et al. used the same clone in immunocytochemistry to study TLR4- and Fc{epsilon}RI mediated gene expression in human mast cells in 2003.
