Catalog Code:NSB621
Product Name:Akt / PKt Phosphospecific Antibody
Product Description:Rabbit Monoclonal anti-Akt / PKt (14-6) [Ser473]
Clone:14-6
Clonality:Monoclonal
ListPrice:325
Immunogen:The antibody was produced against a chemically synthesized phosphopeptide derived from the region of human Akt that contains serine 473. The sequence is conserved among multiple species including mouse and rat across the three isoforms, Akt1, Akt2 and Akt3.
Specificity:This antibody reacts with phosphorylated Akt/PKB protein.
Cross Reactivity:Human and mouse Akt1, 2 and 3. Others species (100% homologous) have not been tested.
Packaging:0.5 ml Immunogen affinity purified Rabbit ascites.
Uses:For Western blotting applications, we recommend using the antibody at a 1:1000 starting dilution. For immunofluorecence staining applications, we recommend a 1:100 starting dilution. Not tested in other applications.*Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Background:Akt, also known as Protein Kinase B (PKB) or RAC-á, is a 65 kDa serine/threonine kinase that plays an important role in diverse biological responses such as regulation of metabolism, cell survival and growth by phosphorylating many proteins including GSK-3â, caspase 9, BAD and the Forkhead Transcription Factor. Akt is activated by PI3K, which in turn can interact with proteins such as FAK (when FAK is phosphorylated at tyrosine 397) thereby linking activation to the cytoskeleton. Akt is phosphorylated on threonine 308 by PDK1 and on serine 473 by PDK2. Phosphorylation at serine 473 is required for full activation of Akt.
Storage:Aliquot and store at -20C or -80C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity:Immunogen affinity purified
