| CatalogCode: | | NB300-598 |
| ProductName: | | KChIP 3 Antibody |
| Product Description: | | Rabbit Polyclonal anti-KChIP 3 |
| Clonality: | | Polyclonal |
| Immunogen: | | Synthetic Peptide: I(30)KWQRPRFTRQALMRC(45).Synthetic peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 30-45 from mouse KChIP 3. This sequence is completely conserved in rat and 87% conserved in humans. |
| Specificity: | | Detects KChIP 3 from rabbit cerebellar granule cells. |
| CrossReactivity: | | Cross-reacts with Rabbit and Mouse.Expected to cross-react with Human and Rat due to sequence homology. Not yet tested in other species. |
| Packaging: | | 0.1 mg Immunogen affinity purified Rabbit antisera. |
| Uses: | | Immunohistochemistry: use at a dilution of 1/25.Not tested in other applications.Optimal dilutions / concentrations should be determined by the end user. Immunohistochemical staining of KChIP3 in rabbit granule cells yields a punctate staining pattern at the plasma membrane. |
| Background: | | Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels are key components of the potassium currents in the heart and central nervous system. In the heart, Kv4 channels are involved in the repolarization phase of the action potential. In the brain however, these channels prevent reverse-propagation of action potentials. Found associated with Kv4 channels are a group of calcium-binding proteins termed KChIPs (Kv Channel Interacting Proteins). KChIPs are small molecular weight proteins that bind to the cytoplasmic amino termini of Kv4 alpha-subunits and help to modulate its function. There are currently three known KChIPs; KChIP 1 expressed in the brain; KChIP 2 expressed in the brain, heart, and lung, and has three isoforms, a, b, and c; and KChIP 3, also known as calsenilin and DREAM (downstream regulatory elements (DRE)-antagonist modulator) which is expressed in the brain and testis. |
