| Product Name: | Cytokeratin Antibody |
| Product Description: | Mouse Monoclonal anti-Cytokeratin (PCK-26) |
| Clone: | PCK-26 |
| Clonality: | Monoclonal |
| ListPrice: | 295 |
| Immunogen: | Full length native protein (purified) (Human epidermis). |
| Specificity: | PCK-26 recognizes the 58 kDa cytokeratin 5, the 56 kDa cytokeratin 6 and the 52 kDa cytokeratin 8 band in immunoblotting (Lane EB et al). It reacts specifically with a wide variety of normal, reactive and neoplastic epithelial tissues. The antibody reacts with simple, cornifying and non-cornifying squamous epithelia and pseudostratified epithelia. It does not react with non-epithelial normal human tissues. |
| Cross Reactivity: | bovine, carp, feline, chicken, canine, goat, guinea pig, human, hamster, lizard, mouse, pig, rabbit, rat, sheep, snake |
| Packaging: | 0.1 ml Mouse ascites. |
| Uses: | AF: Use at an assay dependant dilution. Dot: Use at an assay dependant dilution. IHC-F: Use at an assay dependant dilution. IF: Use at a dilution of 1/300. IHC-P: Use at an assay dependant dilution. IHC-Fr: Use at an assay dependant dilution. WB: Use at an assay dependant dilution. Not tested in other applications.Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. |
| Localization: | Cytoplasmic |
| Background: | Cytokeratins, a group comprising at least 29 different proteins, are characteristic of epithelial and trichocytic cells. Cytokeratin 5, 6 and 8 are members of the type II neutral-to-basic subfamily.Monoclonal antibodies to cytokeratins are specific markers of epithelial cell differentiation and have been widely used as tools in tumor identification and classification. PCK-26 facilitates the typing of normal, metaplastic and neoplastic cells and it may aid in the discrimination of carcinomas and non-epithelial tumors such as sarcomas, lymphomas and neural tumors. It is also useful in detecting micro-metastases in lymph nodes and other tissues and for determining the origin of poorly differentiated tumors (Lane EB et al,Moll R et al). |
