ProductName:VAV1 Antibody
Product Description:Rabbit Polyclonal anti-VAV1 [Tyr160]
Clonality:Polyclonal
Immunogen:Synthetic peptide (Human) derived from a region of VAV 1 that contains tyrosine 160. The sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
CrossReactivity:Cross-reacts with Human.Expected to cross-react with Mouse, Rat and a wide range of other species due to sequence homology. Not yet tested in other species.
Packaging:0.05 ml Immunogen affinity purified Rabbit antisera.
Uses:WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 ug/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 101 kDa. Not tested in other applications.Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Localization:Cytoplasmic
Control:K562 cells expressing wild-type human Integrin alpha v and beta 3 proteins.
Background:Vav proteins belong to the guanidine nucleotide exchange factor family of proteins that couple receptors to Rho-GTPases. The VAV family has currently three members in mammalian cells (VAV 1, VAV 2, and VAV 3). VAV 1 contains multiple protein binding motifs, indicating a role for VAV 1 as an adaptor protein linking cell surface receptors to downstream signaling proteins. VAV 1 is exclusively expressed in hematopoietic cells and plays a significant role in lymphocyte development and antigen receptor mediated activation of NFAT and NF(kappa)B, and in more delayed responses such as the production of cytokines, including IL-2, IL-3, IFN lambda, and TNF alpha. VAV 1 is also reported to activate JNK, p21-activated kinase (PAK) and PLC lambda, implicating its critical role in calcium mobilization, and cytoskeletal rearrangement. Activation of several cell surface receptors including integrins, immune response receptors, or growth factor receptors leads to phosphorylation of VAV 1 on tyrosine residues including tyrosine 160.
Storage:Store at −20oC. We recommend a brief centrifugation before opening to settle vial contents. Then, apportion into working aliquots and store at -20oC. For shipment and short-term storage (up to one week), 2-8oC is sufficient.
