| CatalogCode: | NB120-3267 |
| ProductName: | Rhodopsin Antibody |
| Product Description: | Mouse Monoclonal anti-Rhodopsin (RET-P1) |
| Clone: | RET-P1 |
| Clonality: | Monoclonal |
| Immunogen: | Membrane preparation from adult rat retina. |
| Specificity: | This antibody specifically labels the axons andsynaptic pedicles of the rods. |
| CrossReactivity: | Cross-reacts with Human, Rat and Mouse. Not yet tested in other species. |
| Packaging: | 0.5 ml protein G purified Mouse ascites. |
| Uses: | Immunofluorescence: assay dependent. Western Blotting: use at a concentration of 1 - 2ug / ml for 2hrs at RT. Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): use at a concentration of 2 - 4ug / ml for 30 min at RT. By Western blot, this antibody detects a band of 39 kDa, which corresponds to the predicted molecular weight of Rhodopsin. Staining of formalin fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10 - 20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. |
| Localization: | Plasma membrane |
| Control: | IMR-5 cellsBrain or retina tissue sections. |
| Background: | Rhodopsin is a glycoprotein which is a visual pigment in mammals, birds, amphibians, and reptiles. The rhodopsin protein is present on the photoreceptor cells in the retina. |
| Storage: | Store at 4C. Do not freeze. |
