| Packaging: | 0.5 ml protein A purified Rabbit antisera. |
| Uses: | Immunofluorescence: assay dependent.Immunoprecipitation (with protein A, native): use at a concentration of 10ug / mg of lysate.Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): use at a concentration of 10 - 20 ug / ml for 30 min at RT.Western Blotting: use at a concentration of 2.5 - 5ug / ml for 2hrs at RT. By Western blot, this antibody detects a band of ~ 92 kDa, which corresponds to the predicted molecular weight of beta Catenin.Staining of formalin fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10 - 20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. |
| Localization: | Cytoplasmic when it is unstabilized (high level of phosphorylation) or bound to CDH1. Translocates to the nucleus when it is stabilized (low level of phosphorylation). |
| Storage: | The distinct peripheral cytosolic proteins, alpha, beta and gamma catenin (102, 94 and 86 kDa) are found in many tissues bind to the conserved cytoplasmic tail domain of the cell adhesion cadherins. Catenins link E cadherin to other integral membrane or cytoplasmic proteins and are modulated by Wnt1 proto oncogene. The central core region of beta catenin is involved in mediation of cadherin catenin complex interaction with EGFR. Beta-Catenin-mediated signalling is involved at several stages of vertebrate neural development. |
