Rabbit Polyclonal anti-c-Jun [Ser63] | Novus Biologicals antibody product information
CatalogCode:NB120-22244
ProductName:c-Jun Antibody
Product Description:Rabbit Polyclonal anti-c-Jun [Ser63]
Clonality:Polyclonal
Immunogen:This antibody was developed against a synthetic phosphorylated peptide corresponding to amino acids 59-67 ([BLAST]DLLTS*PDVG[/BLAST]) of human c-Jun; Genbank accession no. NP_002219.1. This peptide sequence is reported by NCBI to be broady conserved. Specifically, the immunogen is 100% conserved between human, monkey, mouse rat, rabbit, pig, cow and sheep. Note: S* refers to phosphorylated serine.
Specificity:Researchers are encouraged to optimize dilutions for their specific testing, and to use the sequence and accession number (NP_000475.1) that were used to design the peptide immunogen in order to assess potential cross-reactivity of the antibody to their s
CrossReactivity:Cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Rabbit, Cow, Monkey, Pig and Sheep. Not yet tested in other species.
Packaging:0.1 mg protein G purified Rabbit antisera.
Uses:ELISA: 1/100 - 1/1000.
Localization:Nuclear
Background:. c-Jun is the putative transforming gene of avian sarcoma virus 17. It encodes a protein which is highly similar to the viral protein, and which interacts directly with specific target DNA sequences to regulate gene expression. C-Jun forms a complex with c-Fos, forming the transcription factor AP-1 (reviewed in 1). AP-1 is a generic term for a dimeric transcription factor that contains members from the Jun, Fos, ATF, and MAF protein families. AP-1 complexes recognize the same sequence motif, termed TRE (TPA responsive element), which is also referred to as the AP-1 binding site. AP-1 activity can be regulated by dimer composition, transcription, post-translational modification and interactions with other proteins. AP-1 proteins play key roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, angiogenesis and tumour invasion. The c-Jun gene is intronless and is mapped to 1p32-p31, a chromosomal region involved in both translocations and deletions in human malignancies.
