| Background: | Ku70 is a subunit of the ATP dependent DNA helicase II, a single stranded helicase that binds to the ends of double stranded DNA in a cell cycle dependent manner. It is associated with chromosomes of interphase cells, followed by complete dissociation from the condensing chromosomes in early prophase. A role for the antigen in DNA repair or transposition has been proposed. |
