| Immunogen: | Rabbit anti-ASC polyclonal antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids near the C-terminus of human ASC. Anti-ASC reacts with ASC at the molecular weight of 25 kDa on western blot. Species reactivity includes human, while others are not tested. |
| Cross Reactivity: | Human. |
| Packaging: | 0.05 mg Immunogen affinity purified Rabbit antisera. |
| Uses: | Works in WB and IHC. The antibody working concentrations for specific applications should be determined by the investigator. The results might be affected by several factors, including secondary antibody affinity, antigen concentration, sensitivity of detection method, temperature and length of incubations. The following concentration ranges are recommended starting points for this product. |
| Background: | Apoptosis is regulated by death domain (DD) and/or caspase recruitment domain (CARD) containing molecules and a caspase family of proteases. CARD containing cell death regulators include RAIDD, RICK, BCL10, Apaf-1, ARC, caspase-9, and caspase-2. A novel CARD domain containing protein was recently identified in human and mouse and designated ASC and TMS1 (1-3). Ectopic expression of ASC induced apoptosis through activation of caspase-9 and inhibited the survival of human breast cancer cells (3, 4). Overexpression of ASC induced DNA fragmentation (4). ASC is expressed in a variety of human and mouse tissues (1, 2) |
