| Omim ID: | beta-NGF_MOUSE |
| Immunogen: | Native beta-nerve growth factor (Ngfb, beta-NGF) purified from mouse submandibular gland |
| Specificity: | This antiserum appears to be very specific for NGF. |
| Cross Reactivity: | Mouse, rat and human. Other species not yet tested. |
| Packaging: | 0.15 ml of Whole antisera antibody |
| Uses: | IHC, WB, inhibition of biological activity. Tested in vitro, this antibody abolishes the neuronal survival and the outgrowth actions of murine NGF in chicken DRG. A dilution of 1 : 500 to 1 : 4000 is recommended for IHC and WB; for inhibition of biological activities a dilution of up to 1 : 100 is recommended and for in vivo 1-20 µl per gram body weight. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. |
| Background: | NGF is a secreted molecule which plays an important roll in the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. It stimulates division and differentiation of sympathetic and embryonic sensory neurons. |
