| Background: | | TACC3 (transforming, acidic coiled-coil containing protein 3) is a approximately 90 kD protein that is a member of the TACC family containing a coiled-coil domain. TACC3 is localized at the centrosomal/mitotic spindle-associated during S/M/G2 phases of the cell cycle. This protein has been shown to be essential for hematopoietic stem cell expansion, to interface with p53-regulated apoptosis, and play a possible role in hypoxic responses. TACC3 can also mediate cellular differentiation and is upregulated by Epo in various cancer lines and downregulated by 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3). TACC3 has been shown to interact with STAT5, ARNT, and ARNT2. The Poly6188 antibody recognizes human TA isoforms of the TACC3 protein and has been shown to be useful for Western blotting. |
