| Background: | hnRNP D (heterogeneous ribonucleoprotein D) is a 37 kD AU-rich element binding protein that is a member of the heterogenous nuclear ribonucleoprotein family. This protein is ubiquitously expressed in the cytoplasm and the nucleus. hnRNP D binds to telomerase and other G-rich repeats in chromosomes and is thought to stabilize structures formed by G-rich telomeric repeats and facilitate extension by telomerase. The hnRNP D protein is thought to regulates mRNA turnover and has been shown to interact with mRNA and G-rich chromosomes. The Poly6084 antibody recognizes human hnRNP D and has been shown to be useful for Western blotting. |
