| Background: | Fbx5 (also known as F-box protein Fbx5, early mitotic inhibitor (Emi1), and F-box only protein 5) is a 44 kD nuclear protein containing an F-box. Fbx5 inhibits APC by binding to Cdc20 and promotes mitotic entry and cyclin A accumulation. Fbx5 is transcriptionally induced by E2F and can be ubiquitinated and targeted for degradation. This protein has been shown to interact with SKP1, Cdc53, Cdc34, Roc1, and Cdc20. The Poly6018 antibody recognizes human Fbx5 and has been shown to be useful for Western blotting. |
