| Background: | **Please note, this product is one of a range of Investigative Grade antibodies, made against targets that have limited or no commercial antibodies available to them and for which there are no data on the expression of the protein in the range of common cell lines and tissues available to us. These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognize native protein in any application. The protein encoded by this gene binds to the intronic cluster of RNA regulatory elements, downstream control sequence (DCS). It is implicated in controlling the assembly of other splicing-regulatory proteins. This protein is very similar to the polypyrimidine tract binding protein but it is expressed primarily in the brain. |
| Alternate Names: | anti-PTBP2 antibody, anti-polypyrimidine tract binding protein 2 antibody, anti-FLJ34897 antibody, anti-MIBP antibody, anti-PTB antibody, anti-PTBLP antibody, anti-brPTB antibody, anti-nPTB antibody, anti-nPTB5 antibody, anti-nPTB6 antibody, anti-nPTB7 antibody, anti-nPTB8 antibody, anti-PTB-like antibody, anti-neural polypyrimidine tract binding protein antibody, anti-splicing regulator antibody |

| Buffer: | Tris-saline [pH7.3] with 0.5% BSA |
| Preservative: | 0.02% sodium azide |
| Packaging: | 0.1 mg Immunogen affinity purified Goat antisera. |
| PackageSize: | 0.1 mg |
| Concentration: | 0.5 mg/ml |
| Uses: | Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:1,000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 35kDa band in lysates of cell line NIH3T3 after 0.1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 57.5kDa according to NP_067013.1. The 35kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported? |
| Application Summary: | ELISA: 1:1000 |
| Storage: | Aliquot and store at -20C or -80C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. |
