| Immunogen: | Synthetic peptide representing the C-terminus of the human protein (residues 219-231) sequence MKLEASQQNSEEM, according to NP_066273 |
| Cross Reactivity: | Cross-reacts with Human. Expected to cross-react with Mouse due to sequence homology. Not yet tested in other species. |
| Packaging: | 0.1 mg Immunogen affinity purified Goat antisera. |
| Uses: | This antibody can be used for Western Blot, where a 35 kDa band can be seen in HeLa cell lysates. Recommended Starting Dilution:WB: 0.5-2ug/ml.**Please note that BCL7A, according to NP_066273, has several consensus glycosylation sites. Glycosylation can affect migration of proteins on SDS-PAGE [Hames, B.D and Rickwood, D., eds. Gel electrophoresis of proteins: a practical approach. Oxford University Press]. This may be the reason why we see an approx 35kDa band rather than the predicted 26kDa band. |
| Background: | This gene is directly involved--with Myc and IgH--in a three-way gene translocation in a Burkitt lymphoma cell line. As a result of the gene translocation, the N-terminal region of the gene product is disrupted, which is thought to be related to the pathogenesis of a subset of high-grade B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The N-terminal segment involved in the translocation includes the region that shares a strong sequence similarity with those of BCL7B and BCL7C. |
