| ProductName: | CASPASE-12 Antibody |
| Product Description: | Rabbit Polyclonal anti-CASPASE-12 |
| Clonality: | Polyclonal |
| Immunogen: | Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 2-17 of murine caspase 12. |
| Specificity: | NB100-66568 recognises an epitope within the N-terminal region of murine caspase 12. Caspase 12 is a member of the interleukin-1 Beta converting enzyme (ICE) subfamily of caspases. Caspase 12 is ubiquitously expressed in murine tissue and is localised to the endoplasmic reticulum. |

| Background: | Caspases are a family of cysteine proteases that are key mediators of programmed cell death or apoptosis. The precursor form of all caspases is composed of a prodomain, and large and small catalytic subunits. The active forms of caspases are generated by several stimuli including ligand-receptor interactions, growth factor deprivation and inhibitors of cellular functions. All known caspases require cleavage adjacent to aspartates to liberate one large and one small subunit, which associate into a2b2 tetramer to form the active enzyme. |
