| Specificity: | NB100-63190 recognises the human protein tyrosine kinase JNK3, a protein of approximately 45kD. JNK3 acts to phosphorylate a number of transcription factors, primarily components of AP-1 such as c-Jun and ATF2 and thus regulates AP-1 transcriptional activity in response to stress. JNK3 is required for stress-induced neuronal apoptosis. JNK3 is expressed predominantly in brain, with very weak expression reported in testis and kidney. Two isoforms of JNK3 are recognised due to alternative gene splicing. |
