| ProductName: | VPS29 Antibody |
| Product Description: | Goat Polyclonal anti-VPS29 |
| Clonality: | Polyclonal |
| Immunogen: | Synthetic peptide, CTGNLCTKESYDYLK, representing the internal region of the human protein according to NP_057310.1; NP_476528.1 |
| CrossReactivity: | Expected based upon sequence homology: Human, Mouse, Rat, Dog |
| Packaging: | 0.1 mg Immunogen affinity purified Goat antisera. |
| Uses: | Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:16,000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 60kDa band in Human Spleen lysates after 0.3µg/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 20.5kDa according to NP_057310.1 and 20.9kDa according to NP_476528.1. The 60kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported? |
| Background: | This antibody is expected to recognise both reported isoforms (NP_057310.1 and NP_476528.1). Gene ID: 51699 **Please note, this product is one of a range of Investigative Grade antibodies, made against targets that have limited or no commercial antibodies available to them and for which there are no data on the expression of the protein in the range of common cell lines and tissues available to us. These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognise native protein in any application. |

| NotesMain: | This gene belongs to a group of vacuolar protein sorting (VPS) genes that, when functionally impaired, disrupt the efficient delivery of vacuolar hydrolases. The protein encoded by this gene is a component of a large multimeric complex, termed the retromer complex, which is involved in retrograde transport of proteins from endosomes to the trans-Golgi network. This VPS protein may be involved in the formation of the inner shell of the retromer coat for retrograde vesicles leaving the prevacuolar compartment. Alternative splice variants encoding different isoforms, and usage of multiple polyadenylation sites have been found for this gene. |
