| CatalogCode: | NB100-40802 |
| ProductName: | S100A7 Antibody |
| Product Description: | Goat Polyclonal anti-S100A7 |
| Clonality: | Polyclonal |
| Immunogen: | Synthetic peptide, C-HKYTRRDDKIDKP, representing the internal region of the human protein according to NP_002954.1 |
| Packaging: | 0.1 mg Immunogen affinity purified Goat antisera. |
| Uses: | Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32,000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 15kDa band in Human Skin lysates after 0.3µg/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 11.5kDa according to NP_002954.1. The 15kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported? |
| Background: | **Please note, this product is one of a range of Investigative Grade antibodies, made against targets that have limited or no commercial antibodies available to them and for which there are no data on the expression of the protein in the range of common cell lines and tissues available to us. These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognise native protein in any application. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein differs from the other S100 proteins of known structure in its lack of calcium binding ability in one EF-hand at the N-terminus. This protein is markedly over-expressed in the skin lesions of psoriatic patients, but is excluded as a candidate gene for familial psoriasis susceptibility. The exact function of this protein is not known. |
