CatalogCode:NB100-304SS
ProductName:53BP1 Antibody
Product Description:Rabbit Polyclonal anti-53BP1
Clonality:Polyclonal
Immunogen:A synthetic peptide, which represents a portion of human tumor protein p53 binding protein 1 encoded in part by exon 11 and 12 (LocusLink ID 7158).
Specificity:NB 100-304 is specific for human 53BP1 protein.
CrossReactivity:NB 100-304 reacts with human and mouse proteins. Other species have not been tested.
Packaging:0.025 ml Rabbit antisera.
Uses:NB 100-304 may be used for Western Blot where a band at ~220 kD is seen on SDS-PAGE. Irradiated lysates demonstrate a gel shift.
Localization:Nuclear. Associated with kinetochores. Both nuclear and cytoplasmic in some cells.
Control:U205, 293T, MO59K cell lysates (human) and MEF lysates (mouse)
Background:P53-binding protein 1 (53BP1) plays a critical role in tumor suppression and is a putative substrate of ATM kinase. Upon DNA damage, it is phosphorylated and relocalizes to the presumptive sites of damage, specifically, double-strand breaks. This also suggests a role in DNA repair, maintaining genomic stability.
