| CatalogCode: | NB100-2444 |
| ProductName: | GGA3 Antibody |
| Product Description: | Goat Polyclonal anti-GGA3 |
| Clonality: | Polyclonal |
| Immunogen: | Synthetic peptide: C-EQLSTEVGEVDQ, representing the C Terminus of the human protein according to NP_619525.1; NP_054720.1 |
| Specificity: | This antibody is expected to recognise both reported isoforms (NP_619525 and NP_054720) |
| CrossReactivity: | Expected reactivity based upon sequence homology: Human, Mouse, Rat, Dog |
| Packaging: | 0.1 mg Immunogen affinity purified Goat antisera. |
| Uses: | Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:16,000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 45kDa band in Human Kidney, Lung and Placenta lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 78.3kDa according to NP_619525.1 and 74.5kDa according to NP_054720.1. The 45kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported? |

| NotesMain: | **Please note, this product is one of a range of Investigative Grade antibodies, made against targets that have limited or no commercial antibodies available to them and for which there are no data on the expression of the protein in the range of common cell lines and tissues available to us. These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognise native protein in any application This gene encodes a member of the Golgi-localized, gamma adaptin ear-containing, ARF-binding (GGA) family. This family includes ubiquitous coat proteins that regulate the trafficking of proteins between the trans-Golgi network and the lysosome. These proteins share an amino-terminal VHS domain which mediates sorting of the mannose 6-phosphate receptors at the trans-Golgi network. They also contain a carboxy-terminal region with homology to the ear domain of gamma-adaptins. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants. |
