| CatalogCode: | NB100-2425 |
| ProductName: | VPS41 Antibody |
| Product Description: | Goat Polyclonal anti-VPS41 |
| Clonality: | Polyclonal |
| Immunogen: | Synthetic peptide: C-DHLKKDSQNKTLLK, representing the internal region of the human protein according to NP_055211.1; NP_542198.1 |
| Specificity: | This antibody is expected to recognise both reported isoforms (NP_055211.1 and NP_542198.1) |
| CrossReactivity: | Expected reactivity based upon sequence homology: Human, Mouse, Rat, Dog |
| Packaging: | 0.1 mg Immunogen affinity purified Goat antisera. |
| Uses: | Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:16,000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave bands at approx 48kDa and 28kDa in Human Duodenum, Kidney and Placenta lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculated size of 98.5kDa according to NP_055211.1 and 100kDa according to NP_542198.1. Both detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands). We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported |

| NotesMain: | **Please note, this product is one of a range of Investigative Grade antibodies, made against targets that have limited or no commercial antibodies available to them and for which there are no data on the expression of the protein in the range of common cell lines and tissues available to us. These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognise native protein in any application Vesicle mediated protein sorting plays an important role in segregation of intracellular molecules into distinct organelles. Genetic studies in yeast have identified more than 40 vacuolar protein sorting (VPS) genes involved in vesicle transport to vacuoles. This gene encodes the human ortholog of yeast Vps41 protein which is also conserved in Drosophila, tomato, and Arabidopsis. Expression studies in yeast and human indicate that this protein may be involved in the formation and fusion of transport vesicles from the Golgi. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene, however, the full-length nature of not all is known. |
