Uses:This antibody is useful for Western blot where a band is seen at ~80 kD. It can also be used for immunocytochemistry (perinuclear staining) and immunoprecipitation. No other applications have been tested.Suggested working dilutions: *Western Blot - 1:10,000-1:20,000 (1-step Western blot kit)**Immunocytochemistry - 1:5,000-1:10,000Immunoprecipitation - 1-3 ug protein (Ammonium sulfate, IgG fraction)*The investigator should determine the optimal dilution for a specific application. ** This GeneScript Corp. system is highly sensitive.
Localization:Nucleoli
Background:Nucleolin is an abundant, 106 kDa nucleolar phosphoprotein. It is the major protein in actively dividing cells, whereas the degraded forms are relatively abundant in non-dividing cells. Stability of the nucleolin protein is cell proliferation-dependent. It plays a role in rDNA transcription, organization, and rRNA processing. It may alter DNA organization in response to cell cycle controls. It is also a good mammalian nucleolus marker.
