| Uses: | This antibody can be used for ELISA and Western Blot. In Western Blot, preliminary experiments detected a band of approximately 26kDa band after 0.3ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 100kDa according to NP_001276.1. The 26kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Recommended dilutions/concentrations: ELISA: 1/16,000. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Not tested in other applications. |

| Background: | This gene encodes a member of the calcium sensitive chloride conductance protein family. To date, all members of this gene family map to the same region on chromosome 1p31-p22 and share a high degree of homology in size, sequence, and predicted structure, but differ significantly in their tissue distributions. The encoded protein is expressed as a precursor protein that is processed into two cell-surface-associated subunits, although the site at which the precursor is cleaved has not been precisely determined. The encoded protein may be involved in mediating calcium-activated chloride conductance in the intestine. |
