| Uses: | By Western blot, this antibody recognizes a band at ~40 kDa, representing Rad51D protein. Suggested working dilutions: * Western Blot - 1:1,000 Immunofluorescence - 1:500 Immunoprecipitation - ND *The investigator should determine the optimal working dilution for a specific application. |
| Background: | Five human RAD51 homologues have been identified: XRCC2, XRCC3, RAD51B, RAD51C, and RAD51D. Each of these homologues interacts with one or more of the others, with all of the proteins involved in one complex or multiple smaller complexes. RAD51D interacts with XRCC2 and RAD51C (1). RAD51D's expression pattern and sequence similarity to other RAD51 family members most likely make it part of a complex of proteins required for DNA repair and meiotic recombination. |
| Storage: | Store at 4C. Do not freeze. |

| NotesMain: | NB 100-178 is unable to detect endogenous protein of HeLa cell extracts. However, immunoprecipitates of the paralog complex from HeLa cell extracts provide a specific signal in Western blot. The IP's are done using either polyclonal anti-Rad51C, anti-Rad51B or anti-XRCC2. <br> **NOTE: This antibody's form has been changed. It is now sold in its purified form. All lots, other than lots A, have been purified. |
