| Product Description: | Rabbit Polyclonal anti-Tubulin alpha |
| Clonality: | Polyclonal |
| Immunogen: | Synthetic peptide: MAALEKDYEEVGVDSVEGEGEEEGEE, corresponding to amino acids 426-450 of Human alpha Tubulin. |
| CrossReactivity: | Cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Xenopus laevis, Cow, Chicken, Gerbil, Guinea pig, Gerbil, and Pig. Expected to cross-react with Newt (100% identity with immunogen) due to sequence homology. Not yet tested in other species. |
| Packaging: | 0.5 ml Immunogen affinity purified Rabbit antisera. |
| Uses: | This antibody can be used in Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot, and Immunoprecipitation. For Immunohistochemistry, staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. In Western Blot a 55 kDa band is seen.*Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end user. |
| Localization: | Cytoplasmic |
| Control: | Lung tissue slides. |
| Background: | Tubulin is the major building block of microtubules. This intracellular cylindrical filamentous structure is present in almost all eukaryotic cells. Microtubules function as structural and mobile elements in mitosis, intracellular transport, flagellar movement and in the cytoskeleton. Tubulin is a heterodimer which consists of alpha tubulin and beta tubulin. |
