| ProductName: | RAD50 Antibody |
| Product Description: | Rabbit Polyclonal anti-RAD50 |
| Clonality: | Polyclonal |
| Immunogen: | Human Rad50 zinc hook region (amino acids 628-787) expressed in E. coli. |
| Specificity: | This antibody is specific for human Rad50. |
| CrossReactivity: | Reacts with human Rad50. Other species have not been tested. |
| Packaging: | 0.025 ml Rabbit antisera. |
| Uses: | By Western blot, this antibody recognizes a band at 153 kDa representing Rad50. It has not yet been tested in any other application. The investigator should determine the optimal working dilution for a specific application. |
| Localization: | Upon DNA damage, Rad50 and Mre11 redistribute and are co-localized within the nucleus of damaged cells. |
| Background: | Rad50, a 153kDa protein, is associated with Mre11 and Nbs1 (Nibrin or p95) to form a multiprotein complex involved in the double strand break repair process. Rad50 is a member of the family of structural maintenance of chromosome (SMC) proteins. Members of this family share similar structures consisting of globular N- and C-termini separated by a coiled-coil domain. At the base of the coiled-coil region is a zinc binding motif, the zinc hook. The zinc hook mediates Rad50 dimerization through the linkage of two Rad50 coiled-coil tails. |
| Storage: | Store at 4C short term. Aliquot and store at -20C long term. Avoid freeze thaw cycles. |
