| CatalogCode: | | NB100-1338 |
| ProductName: | | CYP7B1 Antibody |
| Product Description: | | Goat Polyclonal anti-CYP7B1 |
| Clonality: | | Polyclonal |
| Immunogen: | | Synthetic peptide YPDSDVLFRYKVKS, representing the C-terminus of the human protein (residues 493-506) according to NP_004811. |
| CrossReactivity: | | Expected to cross-react with Human due to sequence homology. Not yet tested in other species. |
| Packaging: | | 0.1 mg Immunogen affinity purified Goat antisera. |
| Uses: | | This antibody can be used for Western Blot and ELISA. In Western Bot, preliminary experiments gave an approx 30kDa band in Human Heart lysates. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the predicted size of 58kDa according to NP_004811. The 30kDa band was succesfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. Not tested in other applications.Recommended Starting Dilution:*WB: 2ug/ml ELISA (peptide): 1:32,000. *Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. |
| Localization: | | Endoplasmic reticulum |
| Background: | | **Please note, this product is one of a range of Investigative Grade antibodies, made against targets that have limited or no commercial antibodies available to them and for which there are no data on the expression of the protein in the range of common cell lines and tissues available to us. These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognise native protein in any application. CYP7B1 is involved in the conversion of cholesterol to bile acids; the first (rate-limiting) step. Defects in CYP7B1 are a cause of neonatal giant cell hepatitis. Patients present severe cholestasis, cirrhosis and liver synthetic failure. |
