| Uses: | This antibody can be used for ELISA and Western Blot. In Western Blot, approx. 90 kDa band observed in Human Testis extracts and approx. 20-25 kDa band observed in Human Testis, Jurkat and U937 lysates. Please note that the bands we observe are differ from the predicted size of approx 80kDa from NP_005968. Currently we cannot find an explanation for this in the literature. However please note that this antibody is also expected to recognise a hypothetical human protein (XP_066217.1) similar to RNF6 and predicted to be 311 amino acids. . In addition, RNF6 has several glycosylation sites. Glycosylation can increase the apparent MW of proteins on SDS-PAGE [Hames, B.D and Rickwood, D., eds. Gel electrophoresis of proteins: a practical approach. Oxford University Press].Not tested in other applications.*Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end user. |

Deletions and mutations in this gene were detected in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), suggesting that this protein may be a potential tumor suppressor. Studies of the mouse counterpart suggested a role of this protein in the transcription regulation that controls germinal differentiation. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein are observed. |
