| Background: | TLK2 (Tousled-like kinase 2) is a nuclear serine/threonine kinase. It is cell cycle checkpoint and ATM-pathway dependent, with maximal activity in S-phase. It is rapidly and transiently inhibited by phosphorylation following the generation of DNA double-stranded breaks during S-phase. TLK2 is potentially involved in the regulation of chromatin assembly during DNA replication. |
